Tiki Oasis attendees and participants might tell you that they feel like the event, which happened in mid-August, ended only days ago. Others will tell you about their PTOD (post Tiki Oasis depression), a post-event emptiness which leaves them yearning for more. Either way, you can see that Tiki Oasis leaves a lasting impression on everyone involved! In the meantime, meet Miss Tiki Oasis 14, check out some press links and calendar the dates for Tiki Oasis 15!

PHOTO ALBUMS – photos by Lee Joseph / Reverberations Media
View photos from the May 2nd 3rd Biennial Taxidermy Show exhibition opening and May 3 live taxidermy demonstration at La Luz de Jesus Gallery with Katie Innamorato, Divya Anantharaman, and Lauren Kane using prepared and raw materials.
The 3rd Biennial Taxidermy Show is not your granddady’s taxidermy: road kill is a central part of the “recycled” philosophy of this unusual and enlightening exhibition, as are discarded livestock, destroyed nuisance animals, casualties of the pet trade and animals that have expired from natural causes. Other sculptures utilize taxidermy techniques in an unorthodox way to fashion fantastic beasts from everyday materials–even the recycled pelts of toy stuffed animals. Elements of technology and decoration combine to create ornaments that approach high art, not only in craft, but in concept.
On Feburary 27, the legendary Pamela des Barres, author of I’m with the Band: Confessions of a Groupie, Take Another Little Piece of My Heart, Let’s Spend The Night Together: Backstage Secrets of Rock Muses and Supergroupies, and Rock Bottom: Dark Moments in Music Babylon lead a well attended book signing and reading at La Luz de Jesus with Catherine James who read from her book Dandelion; Memoir of a Free Spirit and former partner-in-crime GTO member Miss Mercy who also read from Pamela’s book. Fans lined up with books purchased at the gallery as well as their rare GTOs albums and other related cherished ephemera!
