Jesika von Rabbit

Jesika von Rabbit, Innovative creator, expressionist, and former leader and chief songwriter of Joshua Tree’s trailblazing Gram Rabbit will release her third solo album, Bunnywood Babylon, on Friday, June 13 with a headlining show at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. Prior to this event, Jesika, her bassist AZ native Lee Joseph, and their stage performers will return to Arizona, performing at Chopper Johns in Phoenix on 5/9, Bisbee Royale in Bisbee on 5/10, and Che’s Lounge in Tucson on 5/11. von Rabbit will first head to Las Vegas on Thursday 5/8. Her Arizona shows will also feature Brea Burns and the Boleros, plus Bort’s Minorts.

The eerie hi-desert of Joshua Tree is famous for its spiky trees, their twisted arms praying towards the heavens. Just below lies Palm Springs, an area defined by retro-futuristic architecture and golden-age glamour. If there is an artist whose music personifies this unique region, it’s Jesika von Rabbit. Her brand of Electronica Americana is indeed a head-spinning mezcal cocktail of the hi-lonesome sound meets Hollywood razzle-dazzle.

Like a steampunk spaceship, Jesika von Rabbit’s upcoming full-length album, Bunnywood Babylon, transcends musical space and time. Her ability to create deja entendu brings with it an uncanny resonance, an instant familiarity where one swears they’ve heard her retrofuturistic music in a past life.

Brea Burns and The Boleros

Brea Burns occupies a space and time of a bygone era and one that is yet to come simultaneously. Her music is deeply rooted in the Arizona and California rock-influenced country sounds of the 1950s and 1960s, with a healthy dab of 80s cowpunk rhythm and attitude for good measure. Her live shows are wild, her lyrics are irreverent, and her hair is as flawless as it is big. Burns is the real deal — the Honky Tonk Queen of Arizona.

Also joining von Rabbit and Brea Burns will be Bort’s Minorts

Since 2006, Borts Minorts with his Ski-bas and his arsenal of spandex jumpsuits, has taken pride in blending the absolute weirdest structured chaotic musical explosiveness imaginable. With the wild woodland spirit channeling of deities like Pan and Cernunos, Borts Minorts embodies over-the-top showmanship of rock legends like David Lee Roth and Iggy Pop with a dash of Richard Simmons. The Borts Minorts experience fits in nowhere and refreshingly everywhere. Even the most jaded can’t help but leave a Borts show smiling ear to ear!
