Last August, Tiki Oasis celebrated its 25th anniversary with more than 4,000 attendees. Founders Otto and Baby Doe von Stroheim received a Certificate of Mayoral Recognition from the City of San Diego, and 150+ vendors reported record sales. The weekend closed with the annual San Diego Bartenders Battle—won by Eliza Woodman—and a nighttime dance party featuring Lenny Kaye who joined Robert Lopez (El Vez), Deke Dickerson, and Johnny Echols of Love, backed by San Diego’s The Loons, performing songs from Kaye’s landmark 1972 60s garage/psych Nuggets compilation. It was the perfect lead-in to this year’s theme: Tiki Oasis — Psychedelic Tiki!

The clock has burst, and time has no meaning…Where have you landed? Welcome to the land of Psychedelic Tiki. Colors shimmer, patterns swirl and flow, sounds of the East meet rhythms of the West…it’s a feast for the eyes…and an inner ear freakout! Can you dig it? Prepare to have your mind blown on this uncharted journey through a groovy blend of cosmic color and Psychedelia Tropicalia.
