DesignerCon Ben and AyleenDesigner Con is an annual art and design convention that smashes together collectible toys and designer apparel with urban, underground and pop art! This year’s show features 50,000 square feet of art shows, exclusive toys, pop culture goodies, and much more over not one, but two days!

Show organizers Ben Goretsky (3DRetro) and Ayleen Gaspar (Toy Break / October Toys) joined forces in 2009 when Vinyl Toy Network morphed into Designer Con. Their mutual love of designer toys and the lowbrow art scene in Los Angeles brought them together as co-hosts of Toy Break, organizers of DCon, and friends.

“Designer Con is THE event to attend if you’re looking for fresh, original art and design that expresses all of the fun and unique aspects of your personality, whether in the form of a limited edition vinyl toy, gorgeous art print, or clever graphic tee! Plus you get to rub elbows with some of the most talented creatives in the world today – not too shabs!”

– Matt Snow, Ex-Boyfriend Clothing

“Unlike most comic book or collector convention which are filled with the same big name licensed products, Designer Con is full of art and independent creators with unique products you may have never even knew existed. Go to Designer Con and you will see things you can’t believe and can’t live without!”

– Jeremy Sung, Spy Monkey Creations Inc.

“Ben Goretsky is a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus.”

– Frank Kozik

“DesignerCon is honestly the best Con of the year! It’s like an Etsy store with the vinyl toy section of the massive conventions, but without all the massive Con cons! You get way more intimate contact with all the artists, and see a ton of creativity under one roof! I love DCon & will be there every year! This year was year 5 for Lulubell!”

– Amy Del Castillo/Lulubell Toy Bodega

“Designer Con is what Comic Con should be and what fans wish it was.”

– Chet Zar

“Designer Con is the best art fair as far as I’m concerned. Everyone is friendly and radically cool. Plus, you aren’t bludgeoned to death with ads by corporations like Disney or Sony. It’s all makers and fans making face-to-face contact and we absolutely loved it. DesignerCon is for people who hate art fairs, but love art.”

– Daniel Rolnik, Hi-Fructose, Beautiful/Decay, ARTslant, ArtFetch, FecalFace,
Installation Magazine, and co-owner of Intellectual Property Prints
