Jesika von Rabbit Vinyl LP – June Shows – Portland Gay Pride

Joshua Tree’s Jesika von Rabbit has released her new LP, “Journey Mitchell” on iTunes. The album will also be available on vinyl (including a vinyl only bonus track) as a co-release on Dionysus Records and von Rabbit’s own Royal Order label, early summer, exclusively at live shows, until its’ official street date of 7/14 via ILD Distribution when the album ships to retail.

The lead singer, keyboardist, and songwriter of Gram Rabbit’s first solo outing is a playful, poppy, and psychedelic “sextronic” experience, and includes the track “Psychic Spice” which is the subject of von Rabbit’s first video off the new album. The video, directed by Jessica Janos, starts with von Rabbit auditioning to be a new Spice Girl and unravels into a cornucopia of outrageous imagery featuring a warehouse of weirdos which von Rabbit refers to as her “prairie gangsters”.

After trailblazing high-desert rock as the front woman in her band Gram Rabbit, Jesika now steps out on her own with solo project, “Journey Mitchell.” Her album, music video, and stage show debut this month, with release parties in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Part pop princess parody, part desert gypsy, Jesika takes us on a strange trip. “Journey Mitchell,” is laden with New Wave influenced synths, keyboard melodics and infectious dance beats. But make no mistake — this is not a collection of pop songs that induce a brief sugar high; Jesika von Rabbit wants to penetrate and disturb you. The undercurrent of gothic industrial baselines, ghostly echoes and Jesika’s hallowing voice, leaves resin in your system that will bewitch you long after the music fades. — Coachella Magazine

Celebrate the release of Journey Mitchell, von Rabbit’s electronic “adult theme park pop” solo debut. CDs will be available for purchase at the shows – a vinyl LP version of the album is in the works and will be released later this year.

Jesika von Rabbit is perhaps California’s penultimate post-modern inter-galactic pop provocateur. First thrust upon this unsuspecting world as co-founder of groundbreaking freakno rock oddballs Gram Rabbit, the buxotic blonde vixen became such an inescapable force in her Joshua Tree-adjacent headquarters that she even has her own menu item (Nachos Von Rabbit) available at cosmic desert honky tonk Pappy & Harriet’s. Now operating as her own free agent, the Von Rabbit solo assault comes in the form a characteristically sizzling celestial psych-disco sound –while the kinetic stage presentation is one significantly enhanced by a writhing trio of terpsichoreans. Put over with equal measures of artful expression and droll entertainment, after you flip, trip and slip down this rabbit hole, you’ll never want to come back. – LA Weekly

The album includes the track “Psychic Spice” which is the subject of must-watch video directed by Jessica Janos featuring a cornucopia of outrageous imagery starring a warehouse of weirdoes which von Rabbit refers to as her “prairie gangsters.”

Have a listen to her electro -lounge version of The Dickies’ “You Drive Me Ape (You Big Gorilla)” here (to be a bonus vinyl track)

Jesika von Rabbit Releases New Video “Psychic Spice”

Lead singer, keyboardist, and songwriter of Gram Rabbit, Jesika von Rabbit has released her new video, “Psychic Spice”, which is also a track from her upcoming solo album titled “Journey Mitchell”. The album reflects a shift in energy for von Rabbit now that Gram Rabbit are on a sabbatical of undetermined length. For her new project which was entirely written and recorded on her own, von Rabbit is extending the electronic element of Gram Rabbit with “Adult Theme-Park Pop”.

The video, directed by Jessica Janos, starts with von Rabbit auditioning to be a new Spice Girl and unravels into a cornucopia of outrageous imagery featuring a warehouse of weirdos which von Rabbit refers to as her “prairie gangsters.”

Jesika von Rabbit will be performing on Valentine’s Day, opening for Dengue Fever at her favorite cosmic honky-tonk, Pappy and Harriet’s, which features a menu item called “Nachos von Rabbit”,  created by, and named after her.

Watch the video before von Rabbit and friends are committed to the nearest mental ward…
