Joshua Tree Music Festival returns with their Fall 2021 offering, JTMF presents Heart of the Matter.

The Joshua Tree Music Festival presents Heart of the Matter

Dates: October 7-10, 2021

Location: Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground

2601 Sunfair Rd, Joshua Tree, CA.

More Information and Tickets:

The Joshua Tree Music Festival takes place every May and October at the gateway to the world-renowned Joshua Tree National Park. The four-day festivals are immersive, inclusive, and inspiring experiences catering to music and art-loving funsters and families with a sense of adventure.

Since its founding in 2003, the Joshua Tree Music Festival has presented worldly music experiences on several stages, underneath a huge, star-filled desert sky in the shadows of the Joshua Tree National Park. The festival combines its musical program with magnificent art installations by many of the area’s talented artists, a full spectrum of yoga and spiritual classes, music workshops, a robust Kidsville schedule, a world marketplace featuring clothing, instruments, unique items crafted by local and international artists, and a variety of food and beverage vendors! Camping is on-site and included with tickets and CasaGoGo, located at the festival grounds, offers cozy trailer rentals for those who want a little extra comfort. With everything you need right on-site, there’s nothing left to do but relax, unplug and fully immerse yourself in the Joshua Tree Music Festival experience!

This October will mark two full years since the festival has taken place at its longtime home, the Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground. JTMF Presents: Heart of the Matter is about getting back to basics, relishing in meaningful interactions, reintegrating, reconnecting, and revitalizing.

JTMF Presents: Heart of the Matter is an invitation to regroup and reconnect with the festival community. Over four days and nights, attendees can enjoy a relaxed schedule of music, yoga, workshops, and a marketplace. This is an all-ages family-friendly event.

To make room for more healing and feeling, the JTMF experience will be transformed.  Fewer people. More space. Fewer concurrent activities. More time to engage one another. Says festival founder Barnett English.

While some things change, much remains the same. Attendees can expect supreme live music experiences to feed the soul, deep-dive workshops to uplift and inspire, random acts of mindfulness inviting them to interact and connect, spontaneous eruptions of gratitude, and the friendly familial spirit that Joshua Tree Music Festival is known for.

Lineup: Dirtwire, Orgone, Mike Love, Moontricks, Smoked Out Soul, Symone French, and the Trouille Troupe, Autonomix, Collectivity, Gabriella Evaro, and Father Taj.

With the health and wellbeing of patrons and crew a priority, Joshua Tree Music Festival will be implementing additional safety protocols including limiting the number of attendees, increased sanitation, and an interim refund policy to make it easier for ticket holders to stay home if they are sick. We are aware this situation will continue to evolve and we will be ready to adapt our policies to follow county, state, and CDC guidelines as needed says English.

Other Events

Also coming up at the Joshua Tree Music Festival site this October, JTMF is thrilled to partner with folk singer/songwriter/storyteller extraordinaire Steve Poltz to produce the inaugural BaHOOTenzie FolkFest (October 1 & 2) and SongSchool (September 28-30). Join Steve Poltz and wildly talented friends for a magical and intimate experience, we’ll dance, laugh, cry, hug, harmonize, unplug and unwind. BaHOOTenzie information can be found at:

Dear Arizona Tiki Oasis Attendees,

It took a village to restart Arizona Tiki Oasis and two years later we want to thank some of the people that encouraged us and helped us to get energized and inspired to relaunch the event. We couldn’t have done it without the support of the participants: staff, artists, disc jockeys, seminar educators, sponsors, marketplace crafters, artists and traders, mixologists volunteers, and of course the super supportive Hotel Valley Ho staff. Cheers to our featured local artist, Jon Arvizu, and longtime friend and collaborator world-renown artist SHAG. Special thanks to Janek at Bauer Pottery, Tiki AZ moderators Ross, Leigh, and James; Cobain for Decor; Dana from Hula’s Modern and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. We especially want to thank the Arizona Preservation Foundation for their ongoing support and shared values of Architectural Preservation. Lastly, we give gratitude to our sons Vander and Dashiell for inspiring us to keep creating and producing events.

The Tropics was the most elaborate of a chain of five California Tropics Tiki motels and an important part of Tiki history. The event was moved to San Diego in 2006 to support the historic Bali Hai Restaurant and Hanalei Hotel. Now Tiki Oasis is proud to be the original and largest Tiki event in the world and features five nights and four days of live music, dance, DJs, vendors, fashion show, poolside entertainment, car show, kids activities, art exhibit, plus top experts giving educational presentations. Its sister event, Arizona Tiki Oasis made its successful debut in 2019 and brings the island lifestyle to the desert in full Mid-Century glory.

Oct 15-18: Joshua Tree Music Festival – From the Desert with Love

Joshua Tree Music Festival’s October Streaming Event –
JTMF Presents: From The Desert With Love.
When: Oct 15-18, 2020
Where: Online, everywhere!

Lineup: Thumpasaurus, Balkan Bump, Afrolicious, Jesika von Rabbit, Vir McCoy Allstars, Year of the Crow, Heather Christie and Vir McCoy, Subko.

Joshua Tree Music Festival announces an October streaming event – Joshua Tree Music Festival Presents: From the Desert With Love. The event will include a series of music sets filmed on location at the Joshua Tree Music Festival site the week before. We opted to pre-record the sets to ensure the best quality video and audio for people’s living room dance parties says festival founder Barnett English. The event will also include a daily mindfulness class live-streamed from the festival site and a secret menu of ‘silly shenanigans’ that guests will have to keep their eye out for. We hope to unite people, support the artists and crew, and promote the community vibes that the festival is so known for during a time when it is so needed, continues English.
In true JTMF style, the event will kick off with a Thursday evening dance party on October 15, with a live-streamed DJ set with Subko. The Thursday kick-off party will be free to the public. Tickets to the main streaming event October 16-18 start at $10 for stream access with tiers up to $60 that include bonus perks and exclusive merch.
We hope ‘JTMF Presents: From The Desert With Love’ is the first in a series of streaming events that we’re able to bring to our community. This event will be extra special as it is all filmed or streamed from the Joshua Tree Music Festival site. If we can’t bring people to the festival, we’re going to do our best to bring the festival to our people! Says Marketing and Communications Director Cassie Morrow.

What else has the Joshua Tree Music Festival team been up to during this time? We’re glad you asked!
With in-person events still on hold, the Joshua Tree Music Festival team has taken this time to work on side projects CasaGogo and Harmonize Printing.
About CasaGogo: 2020 has been filled with uncertainty. But if there’s one thing we are certain of, it’s that getting outdoors and spending time with your loved ones stargazing, outside in wide-open spaces, soaking in the desert energy, is medicine for the soul. We lucky folks that live in the desert get to benefit from this on a daily basis but there are many who do not, so we hope to provide this opportunity for people to get some ‘soul medicine’ in a safe and responsible way. About Harmonize Printing: Harmonize printing is a direct-to-garment t-shirt printing business where people can purchase Joshua Tree Music Festival merchandise as well as designs by musicians, local artists, and local businesses who all need community support right now. All garments are printed to order, with love, right here in Joshua Tree. For more go to

18th Annual Spring Festival May 14-17, 2020 (Canceled)
15th Annual Fall Festival Oct 8-11, 2020

A message from Joshua Tree Music Festival HQ
With heavy hearts, we are officially announcing that the 18th Annual Spring Joshua Tree Music Festival which was to be held May 14-17, 2020, will be canceled.

We still strongly believe that community is crucial and our hearts want nothing more than to gather and sing and dance and laugh together. With current conditions, however, community means being socially responsible and adhering to the CDC’s recommendations of social distancing for the well-being of all.

Our thoughts are with you all during these unprecedented and uncertain times. Please stay safe, stay healthy, and check in on each other.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly with further information and options. We will be using this time to regroup and are putting our energies into preparing for the 15th Annual Fall Festival, Oct 8-11, 2020. We look forward to reuniting with our community in the Fall!

Please support the bands that were scheduled to play, stream their music, and have a look at any merchandise they are selling online, at this link.

Plans are in the works for the annual Fall Festival. Check the website for updates.
